Region_Water_Fun_Day_Mar2014_Pt_1-2

This is an opportunity where both Scouts, parents and siblings can participate in some Fun Water Activities. We will have a large number of canoes, along with a number of sailing craft and possibly some power boats on the water. Joeys participating in canoeing will need to have either a parent with them, or at least a Level 2 Flat water Canoeist in the boat with them.

This is a non uniform day, however youth members to wear their scarves for opening parade. You will need to bring a broad brim hat (No Base Ball Caps), sunscreen, water bottle, towel, swimmers and river shoes.(or spare shoes that can get wet.)

PFD’s will be provided. All participants while in water craft must wear a correctly fitting PFD, and enclosed footwear. (River Shoes) Crocs are not suitable. All scouts must also wear River shoes while doing swimming activities. It is highly recommended that everyone in the water wears appropriate footwear.

There are limited BBQ facilities on site. There will be a food store selling drinks and hot food, or if you prefer you can pack a picnic lunch from home.

Cost for the day including all activities is $5.00 per person, or $20.00 for a family. Children under 5 are free. Each paying person will be issued with a wrist band to wear on the day.

A map showing the campsite is here: http://goo.gl/maps/dern3 The journey takes about 3.5 hours from Bundilla.
